Bookkeeping
Reliable reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable, and clear reporting, organised around the way your business works.
Learn more about BookkeepingOur office and the Bundoora Industrial Estate share a street: Grimshaw Street runs west from Greensborough straight to it. Brian works with Bundoora wholesalers, trades, consultants and Plenty Road retailers on their books, payroll and tax.
Bundoora is the neighbour we can reach without leaving our own street. Our office is on Grimshaw Street in Greensborough, and if you follow the same road west for a few kilometres you arrive at the Bundoora Industrial Estate. Tucked off Grimshaw Street around The Concord, Mirra Court and Clements Avenue, the estate is on the Banyule side and holds about 130 businesses: wholesalers and distributors, trade suppliers, light manufacturers, mechanics and service firms.
Further west, Plenty Road is Bundoora's main artery. The 86 tram runs along it to Bundoora RMIT, past La Trobe University's main campus and the La Trobe Research and Innovation Precinct, the Polaris Town Centre near La Trobe, and the Uni Hill Factory Outlets, which opened in 2008 at Plenty Road and the Metropolitan Ring Road in the University Hill precinct.
Estate businesses tend to carry real stock and real staff. That means supplier accounts on 30-day terms, customers who need chasing, warehouse and workshop staff on varying hours, and margins that depend on knowing what each order or product line actually cost. Our bookkeeping service keeps payables, receivables and bank accounts reconciled, and allocates costs to jobs or product lines where that matters. Our payroll service handles timesheets, Single Touch Payroll reporting, leave and super for the team on the floor. Wholesalers also feel GST timing, since GST on purchases can go out well before the GST on sales comes in, so we prepare your BAS from reconciled figures and help you plan for each quarter's payment or refund.
The two university campuses bring a different kind of business to Bundoora: independent consultants, contract researchers, academics with a side practice and young companies growing out of the research precinct. Their questions are usually about structure and timing. Should you stay a sole trader or set up a company? When does GST registration make sense? How do you budget for tax when income arrives in uneven contract payments?
We set up Xero, QuickBooks Online or MYOB so invoices, expenses and any grant income are tracked cleanly from day one. As the business grows, our business advisory service gives you regular reporting on cash runway and profit, and we prepare and lodge the tax returns for you and your entity as a registered tax agent.
Shops in the outlet centre and the town centre run on long trading hours, weekend rosters and seasonal peaks. For them, the essentials are accurate pay runs and a quarterly GST figure built from properly reconciled point-of-sale and supplier data rather than estimates. We look after both, with rosters and penalty rates handled through payroll and takings matched to bank deposits each week, so a busy sale weekend or a quiet January shows up clearly in your figures.
Bundoora is shared between Banyule, Darebin and Whittlesea, which can be confusing when you're looking for a permit or a business program. The Bundoora Homestead Art Centre, for instance, is Darebin's public gallery, while the industrial estate falls under Banyule. None of that changes how your tax works, though, and we keep your records the same way wherever your premises sit.
Brian can visit your unit, office or shop in Bundoora, see you at our Greensborough office a short drive east, or meet by video.

Learn more about Cloud Accounting SetupYes. We enter supplier bills, keep your payables report current so you know what's due, and reconcile stock purchases against what you've sold. If you use an inventory or ordering system that connects to your accounting software, we make sure the two agree.
As an employee, tax was withheld from your pay. As a consultant on an ABN, you'll set money aside yourself, keep records of income and expenses, and may need to register for GST and pay instalments. We help you set that up from the start and lodge your returns.
For permits, rates and council business programs, yes: Bundoora is divided between Banyule, Darebin and Whittlesea. For tax, no. Your BAS, payroll reporting and tax return all go to the ATO wherever your premises sit.
